Technologies Keeping you updated with the latest technologies Point of Sale (POS) EDC Setup I. IIS II. DotNET4.0 <proper DefaultAppPool under IIS Server> III. SQL Server Install <Instance Name, users ; pc user & sa> IV. EDC Install
Mostly, pay attention to Web Management Tools & World Wide Web Services (Red Underlined) Installing DotNET4.0 and you will NOT need to install earlier
version of DotNET3.5 SP1 Once finish IIS & DotNET4.0, you need to make sure the DafaultAppPool under IIS manager should be DotNET4.0 other than older version 2.0.
Now, it’s time to install SQL Server 2008 EXPRESS assuming we have properly installed and configured IIS and .Net4.0 THREE (3) most important things on installing the SQL Server
are ; (1)
SQL Service Account – NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Use the SAME account for all Server services – NT Authority\SYSTEM, blank password (2) Instance Name - (3)
SQL Authentication - Mixed Mode You will need two (2) types of credentials here for the Mixed Mode ; built-in sa (System Administrator) and Computer Admin. The sa credentials will be required for EDC client to connect remotely to the Database on the EDC server. That’s it! So far we have completed all procedures (IIS, DotNet4.0, SQL server) prior to installing the EDC software, and now we’ll install EDC; Installing EDC software is very straightforward, but you will have to pay special attention when you go through the new DN set up wizard if you specify the Instance Name at SQL other than default name of ‘Aldelo’. I myself named the Instance ‘iPOS’ instead of ‘Aldelo’. So the General System Information at the Wizard should be “iPOS017\iPOS”. The ‘iPOS017’ is the name of SQL server.
CHECK POINTS: 1.DefaultAppPool --> DotNET ver4 integrated? 2.DefaultAppPool --> is NOT supposed to STOP 3.Enable TCP, Assign Static IP with Blank dynamic ip? 4.64bit_II7_POOL_Registration? 5.SQL Server InstanceName? 6.Payment Web Service Host Name (IIS server name) 7.Restart IIS, Restart SQL server 8.TCP/IP for Instance (Aldelo) shuld be Enabled 9.Browse "EDC.asmx" **IIS > Sites > Default Web Site > AldeloEDC > Content View
